Maulid Nabi Muhammad SAW merupakan peringatan kelahiran Nabi Muhammad SAW yang jatuh setiap tanggal 12 Rabiul Awal dalam kalender Hijriyah. Peringatan ini menjadi momen penting bagi umat Islam di seluruh dunia untuk mengenang kelahiran dan ajaran-ajaran Nabi Muhammad SAW.
Kepala MTsN 2 Kota Palembang Dra. Nuraini Farida, M.Si mengatakan anak-anak yang kami banggakan kita hari ini memperingati hari besar kelahiran nabi kita nabi agung muhammad saw, hanya mengingatkan hari kelahiran beliau kita bukan hanya mengenang tapi harus mengambil hikmah dari memperingati hari kelahiran nabi muhammad saw. yang dimana beliau yang diberikan mandat oleh allah untuk membawa umat kita untuk memeluk agama islam yang telah disempurnakan dari agama yang dibawa oleh nabi-nabi sebelumnya. “ujarnya.
Nuraini Berharap seluruh siswa siswi mulailah meneruskan menghafal karena setiap yang kalian lakukan akan mendapat barokah untuk kehidupan selanjutnya, jadi tanamkan minat kalian untuk menghafal alquran sesuai moto MTsN 2 Kota Palembang program unggulan harus hafal alquran minimal 2 judz dan sebisa mungkin lebih dari itu . pungkasnya.
