Menjelang pelaksanaan Kompetisi Sains Madrasah (KSM) Jenjang MTs Tingkat Kota, MTs Negeri 2 Kota Palembang telah menyiapkan 3 orang siswi sebagai perwakilan dari MTs 2, siswi yang diunjuk untuk mengikuti ajang lomba KSM ini telah melakukan bimbingan intensif dari guru bidang study kepada peserta didik yang akan mengikuti kompetisi ini. Jumat (06/08)
Hal ini dilakukan agar dalam pelaksanaanya nanti dapat meraih hasil yang maksimal. KSM tingkat Kota rencananya akan dilaksanakan pada tanggal tanggal 21 – 23 Agustus 2021 dan digelar secara online.
Kepala MTs Negeri 2 Kota Palembang Drs. Iskandar, M.Si mengatakan bahwa kegiatan KSM adalah sebagai wahana kompetisi dalam bidang Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (IPA) , dan ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (IPS) bagi peserta didik. Tujuannya adalah untuk meningkatkan mutu pendidikan khususnya bidang sains yang berasaskan pendidikan karakter meliputi religiusitas, integritas, nasionalisme, mandiri dan berprestasi.”ujar iskandar
Lanjut Iskandar, “Kegiatan KSM sebagai bagian dari upaya komprehensif dalam menumbuh kembangkan budaya belajar, kreativitas, dan motivasi berprestasi”. Kompetisi ini dirancang sebagai kompetisi yang sehat serta menjunjung tinggi nilai-nilai sportivitas siswa dalam mengembangkan ilmu pengetahuan mereka baik dalam bidang akademik maupun nonakademik sekaligus mengharumkan nama baik MTs 2 sebagai contoh untuk madrasah lainya.
